vCloud Director

The purpose of the vCloud Director module is to monitor and analyse the various VDCs in your vCloud Director instance. You will find the list of the different organizations, the list of associated VDCs and detailed information on them: capacity/consumption, monitoring of the evolution of the number of VMs, date of possible saturations per resource and number of VMs that can be created.

Organizations

Default Graphs

The first chart shows an inventory of the organizations declared in vCloud Director. You will find the number of VDCs and the global resources used per organisation. This list is exportable to CSV.

Item Description
Name Name of the organisation
VDCs Number of VDCs linked to the organisation
CPU (GHz) Total CPU resource usage in GHz for a given organisation
Memory (GB) Total RAM resource usage in GB for a given organisation
Storage (GB) Total STORAGE resource usage in GB for a given organisation

By selecting an organisation, the VDC inventory for that organisation will be displayed in a new table below it.

VDC

Default Graphs

The second table shows the list of VDCs attached to an organisation. In the same way as for the table listing the organisations, you will find in this table the CPU, RAM and STORAGE resource usage for each VDC. You also find the type of VDC ('AllocationPool', 'ReservationPool', 'AllocationVApp' or 'Flex'), the VM quota and the vSphere resource pool ID associated to the VDC. This list is exportable to CSV.

Item Description
Name Name of the VDC
Res.Pool identifier Identifier of the vSphere resource pool associated with this VDC
Allocation model Type of the VDC
VM quota VM quota (if 0, unlimited)
CPU used (GHz) Total CPU resource usage in GHz for a given organisation
CPU limit (GHz) CPU resource limit in GHz for a given organisation
Memory used (GB) Total RAM usage in GB for a given organisation
Memory limit (GB) RAM resource limit in GB for a given organisation
Storage used (GB) Total STORAGE resource usage in GB for a given organisation
Storage limit (GB) STORAGE resource limit in GB for a given organisation

Synthesis

Physical resources over the last 24 hours

Default Graphs

This frame shows the VDC usage status over the last day. Three resources are analysed: processor consumption, memory consumption and storage. The green indicator shows what has been used in the VDC for virtual machines. This frame shows the current activity of the VDC in relation to its capacity.

Evolution information

This section allows you to follow the evolution of the number of virtual machines that are running in the VDC under analysis:

  • Estimation of the number of virtual machines that can be created based on the consumption of virtual machines.
  • estimation of saturation dates, based on CPU, RAM and STORAGE consumption.
